Our Vision

The Reign of God in the World and among His people—Reflection and Action from the Perspective of the Majority World.

MWCLC

Who we are

  1. We are followers of Jesus from the Majority World (MW), comprising of Africa, Asia, Latin America, and MENA, who also see ourselves as responsible members of the larger global church.

  2. We affirm that God’s revelation through Jesus Christ as foundational in our faith, and the Bible as the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
MWCLC

Our Goals

  1. To provide a platform for leaders from the Majority World to have a conversation
    around:
    1. Our theology
    2. Our missiology
    3. Our ecclesiology
    4. Leadership from the Majority World.
    5. Issues that are critical to the Majority World.

  2. Be a safe place where MW leaders are enriched, inspired and empowered to make a significant contribution to the global church.
MWCLC

Key Issues that Concern Us

    1. The need for Christians in the different regions of the MW to develop a Christian identity that is firmly rooted in the gospel, and characterised by the best and noblest in their respective cultures and, where applicable, key elements of their own Christian history.

    1. Formulation of an ecclesiology that is faithful to the Bible’s teachings, reflects the best distinctives of our respective churches’ traditions where applicable, and which enhances the unity of the church, both regionally and globally.

    1. In Christian missional thinking and practice, we seek the following:
      1. A genuine dependence on the work and power of the Holy Spirit.
      2. Mission in the past five centuries has been largely done from the political and economic power centre to the margins. We seek to develop mission approaches that takes the gospel from the margins to the centre instead, as is seen in the book of Acts.
      3. Resisting the distortion of mission priorities and practices caused by moneyand power.

  1. Rethinking and reshaping ministry in the church and to the world using the model of biblical servanthood rather than that of corporate leadership.
